The weather has been much more delightful these past few days and has lead to more outdoor explorations around Copenhagen. This is a small collection of snapshots I have taken of this amazing city.
Beautifully crafted lattes- Paludan BogCafe & Joe and the Juice
Omelette with spinach and mozzarella cheese- Paludan BogCafe
Croissants -Paludan BogCafe
I don't know if you can tell, but I am slightly obsessed with Paludan BogCafe! It is a cozy little cafe that is always packed with students studying with walls lined with old books to give it a library-esque feel.

Nyhavn, meaning New Harbor, is a canal and waterfront street in Copenhagen that is most well known for the brightly colored townhouses that line the street. There are also many small restaurants and and coffee shops that line the water and on a sunny day, you can find people of all ages sitting outside enjoying their meals and soaking up the sun.
From Nyhavn, you can take a nice stroll along the water down to see the famous Little Mermaid statue.
Anders had given me a heads up that while this statue is one of the top tourist attractions in Copenhagen, it is really overrated and not very special and I hate to say it, but he was right. However, something about living in Copenhagen and not going to see the statue didn't seem right so of course we went and paid our respects.
The statue is based off of the highly respected, danish Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid fairy tale.

& now just a few gems that I found while wandering around to hopefully make you all jealous that you aren't here...

Tivoli Gardens by day
And by night. The Tivoli Gardens is a garden and second oldest amusement park in the world. It is currently closed and won't be open until the middle of April when the weather is better.
Late night strolling around Christiania lead to finding some creepy old buildings & amazing Alice in Wonderland graffiti.
And to top it all off, a collage of pictures documenting one of the most amazing nights I have had yet. Thanks to my Sports Economics class, my classmates and I were given the opportunity to attend a womens handball game this past week. We were treated with full VIP service including an open bar, buffet dinner AND dessert, and of course front row seats at the game.
The dinner consisted of platters full of curried chicken, roast beef, an assortment of salads and breads, and roasted potatoes.
The sport of handball in Denmark is as popular as baseball in America. I personally had never even known that such a sport existed before seeing it on a television a couple of weeks ago. Handball is ultimately a combination of basketball and soccer. The small is the size of a miniature soccer ball that is thrown or bounced to pass to one another. The ball can also be dribbled, like basketball, and double-dribbling is not allowed. It resembles the quick back and forth nature of basketball and soccer and there are two nets on each side guarded by a goalie.
