After three days of wanting to cook eggs for breakfast but then realizing that I had no oil for the pan or salt and pepper for flavor I finally got around to going down to the main supermarket and getting some essentials for my new home.
Today I got my Metro Pass and so I figured I had a good excuse to take the Metro to campus and find out where my classes were and then to stop at the grocery store after. Right next to the main building of CBS, there is a shopping mall complete with a Fotex, one of the grocery stores of Copenhagen. After wandering around campus I headed over to the mall walking right past the H&M even though the clothes in the window were calling my name. I reminded myself that I already came with two 70 pound suitcases and the need for clothes is far from necessary at the moment.

I present to you Fotex. The entire front of the store is a bakery which provides aromas like you can't even believe. On that note though, seriously everywhere you go in Copenhagen, it either smells like onions and garlic which is weird, or like someone just took a fresh batch of cookies out of the oven. Anyways, back to Fotex. I had come prepared with a list of what I was shopping for because when everything is still so foreign it is quite easy to get distracted and overwhelmed. I was here for the essentials and a few extra things just mainly because I have been in the mood to cook.
Let there be eggs! And dressed salad! And some flavor to dishes that I cook from here on out!
I can now stop wiping up spills with toilet paper, stop going into the shower and getting body wash to use as hand and dish soap every time I need to clean a dish or wash my hands, and can replace the plate that is currently standing in for the saran wrap on top of a bowl of leftovers. Yay!
And finally, the ever so important, SRIRACHA.

Stay tuned for recipes to come featuring the other lovely products that this chick got her hands on today.
And I leave you with this PSA: it is probably not the best idea to go get an ID picture taken for your Metro pass after having a late night out, waking up with 10 minutes to get ready, and then accidentally getting lotion in your eye causing them to puff and water and turn red with no time to do anything about it. That is unless you want to end up with a photo like this.

In my defense, when I went to get a picture taken at the Danish Consulate for my residence permit they were very strict about not smiling and being able to see your ears. When taking this one, the "What Not To Dos" were in Danish so I played it safe, tucked all hair back behind my large ears and didn't show my teeth.
